10 Best Places to Hike With Kids Around Los Angeles

We have started this list with really easy walks with toddlers, working up to parks where there are still a variety of hikes – some for little kids but with more challenging ones for older kids. All the walks/hikes have interesting aspects to keep kids’ attention focused on what they will be doing next instead of stopping along the way claiming they are “tired” simply because they are actually a little bored.

1. Ferndell Nature Trail

The trail located within Griffith Park near the Western Canyon entrance is within the city limits and offers a shady walk with a large variety of ferns under sycamore trees. There is a snack stand and picnic area with playground. It’s ideal for tiny tots.
