Earl Abels’s is a San Antonio institution having first opened its doors in 1933. Comfort food is served here and diners keep coming back for the delicious preservative-free fresh made food. Although the original building was demolished in 2006, the new venue on Austin Highway still serves out the food that made them famous like Earl Abel’s fried chicken and old school style mac n’ cheese. Their breakfast menu is served all day long! The kids’ menu forgoes the usual junk food, think hot dog, fries and soda and instead offers choices like a two-egg omelet with ham or sausage or bacon and cheese. The Kids’ Classic has 2 scrambled eggs, a strip of bacon or sausage, hash browns and apple juice.
