Fall foliage spotting is a great excuse for a getaway, even if it is to a park within the city to soak up last bit of nature before winter sets in. Turn foliage spotting into a chance to hike, teach kids more about nature, and generally enjoy the fall season bounty. We have chosen a variety of destinations – some involve just taking an hour off to play in the leaves and others last a whole weekend.
View big tooth maples in all their fall glory of flaming reds and oranges and yellows. There’s quite a bit to do here: hiking, wildlife and bird watching, fishing, photography, relaxing and stargazing.
