13 Best Places for Holiday Lights Viewing in Los Angeles

Christmas Tree Lane

Palm trees bow out of the picture in this one-mile avenue of cedars in Santa Rosa Avenue that blink with thousands of twinkling lights for the holiday season. Apparently, John P. Woodbury a real estate magnate planted the trees in 1885 – they were to form the magnificent entrance driveway to his mansion. But the mansion was never built and instead, since 1920, the trees have been decorated, providing festive joy to thousands of Los Angeles residents and visitors. Pack some festive snacks and hot cocoa, bundle the kids into the car and take a cruise down Christmas Tree Lane.
