15 Best Water Parks and Splash Pads In and Around San Francisco

San Francisco doesn’t have a huge number of waterparks. There are a few big ones outside of the central city, plus a number of splash pads that we have included to make up our list of places to cool off. They are not in merit order – just a whole lots of options from big thrills to little splashes to choose from.

Shaded pavilions are handy when you’re out with lots of kids and family members for the day. There are hundreds of poolside lounge chairs so you shouldn’t be battling to find a space. Adult and kid lifejackets are available to use free of charge, and lifeguards are on duty. Watch the kids enjoy Treasure Island with its tunnels, slides and water features, or explore Lil’ Kahuna’s Waterworks where tipping buckets, little water slides, aqua seesaws and lots more will keep them occupied. Take them down the Lazy River ride or enjoy some ‘ocean action’ in the wave pool. Older thrill seekers may want to take on BreakPoint Plunge – a super-speedy 270-foot drop that will leave you wondering where you left your heart. Waterworld California has loads of rides and slides, rented cabanas for poolside shade, plenty of showers and food and drink available throughout the park area.
