15 Bucket List Places Around Dallas To See With Kids

Ride a bike on the Santa Fe Trail

This urban/park trail is a good choice is it is usually not too crowded. The pathways are 12 foot wide and pass through some natural areas from White Rock Lake, passing through various neighborhoods to Deep Ellum. The 4.5-mile long path is over the former Santa Fe Railroad line. When you bike this with kids be extra careful at the road crossings as it does pass through the city. Best times are early evening during the week and super early on weekend mornings. Try to avoid the lunchtime/afternoon crowds on weekends. Bike first then brunch afterward! When you reach Deep Ellum there are a number of choices for a meal or snack, but if you can’t wait that long The Lot trail café is along the way. There are also some trees on the trail providing welcome shade.
