The whole point of restaurant week is not to visit the tried and tested places you always go to but to try out some new ones – especially as the prices will be considerably lower than the a la carte prices. Go with an open mind and a positive attitude – you never know you may find a new personal favorite – and if you still think your local joint is better – well at least you have satisfied your curiosity. Restaurant Week in San Francisco runs from January 18th to 29th. Make reservations clearly stating you want the restaurant week specials. Bon appetite!

Rustic-chic best describes the décor of this elegant Spanish bistro. Their $25 lunch offers an appetizer of Bacalao (salt cod) with a salad and the entrees are the Tortilla – Spanish omelette with crispy chorizo that patrons rave about (it comes is a vegetarian option too) or the Asado – slow roasted pork with quince conserva. Expect exceptional service.
