1. Leo Carrillo State Beach

Travel 28 miles north from Santa Monica and you will come across the Leo Carrillo State Park with a beach that stretches for 1.5 miles. Kids will love exploring the sea caves, tide pools, and reefs where they can a whole host of marine life. Older kids will enjoy learning to surf, snorkel, windsurf, body board and swim. At the park’s visitor center kids may enjoy the interactive displays and be keen on the guided nature walks. Treat the kids to a weekend away and let them explore the beach and back country in the park that has picnic areas, campsites, and RV facilities.
