Description of the Event: Festival de Animales

We’re celebrating the animals, culture and food of Latin America! Take a tour of South America during this day time event dedicated to highlighting the San Antonio Zoo South American conservation efforts. Also, take a culinary tour of the tastes of Latin America at select zoo restaurants and pop-up booths. This event is included with zoo admission. Members are free.

Saturday September 2

    • Mammals – Celebrate Wild Cat Day with us as we shine a light on our jaguar conservation efforts.
    • Reptiles – Leap in knowledge while we highlight our Puerto Rican Crested Toad, Mexican Rattlesnakes and more.
    • Conservation – Our conservation team will stories from all of their recent field stories.

Sunday, September 3

    • Birds- Take a peep at our Caribbean Flamingo, King Vulture and more.
    • Monarchs- Learn about monarch migration, how you can participate in citizen science, get a up-close and personal look at really cool bugs walk away from native plant seeds!
    • Conservation – Our conservation team will stories from all of their recent field stories.
