Your little Picasso living in your home is going to love this kiddie-themed art session! Stories to inspire your little artist followed by a different hands on art activity each week. Things get messy, so be sure to wear mess appropriate clothing. Smocks and materials are provided. Free tickets are required, and are distributed 30 minutes before the program. This event is appropriate for ages 3 through 6.

Alma Y Corazon Tejano Ballet Folklorico’s mission is to instill knowledge about the history, traditions and culture of Mexico through the art of dance. Come on down to the Harrington Library to learn all about this traditional dance with masterful instructors, and of course, dancing! Watch dancers from ages 3 to 24 perform a variety of Hispanic dances. You’ll learn more about the regions they come from and marvel at the beautiful costuming and energetic dances. This event is free to attend.

Under the artistic Direction of Larry Keigwin, Keigwin + Company comes to Irving for a community residency. Inspired by Maurice Ravel’s iconic score, a cast drawn from more than 50 members of the community will perform a large-scale dance celebration, Bolero Texas, as part of an evening-length program, performed by Keigwin + Company scheduled for Saturday, September 30th at 7:30 pm. For the third annual Chalk Art Festival, come view elaborate chalk art designs by talented professional street painting artists at Crockett Row at West 7th. Artists will begin as early as 10:00 am, so come early and watch the pieces evolve. The festivities of the Chalk Art Festival include: the evolution of a professional street painting mural, a children’s art area, live entertainment, and an awards ceremony. In addition to the professional commissions, there will be a People’s Choice award given based on donations and an amateur artist competition. Amateur competition prizes will be given to the first, second and third place winners as determined by a panel of judges.
