Brooklyn Children’s Book Fair

Now your kids can meet their favorite authors and illustrators at the annual Brooklyn Children’s Book Fair! This year’s fair will display a wide range of storybooks, picture books, poetry, graphic novels, and fiction and nonfiction books for little ones of all ages. The kids who take part can also meet more than fifty Brooklyn-based authors and illustrators and get involved in book readings, illustrator demonstrations, and try their hands on art-making activities. The event is suitable for kids of all ages. The entry is free for all.

Living History: Veterans Day Weekend

Explore the service of the veterans by visiting the Museum during this weekend. Get to meet soldiers from different wars portrayed by members of a unique African American regiment each day. With great stories, you can learn about the life on and off the battlefield throughout American history. Look at the uniforms, equipment, that speaks bravery and even try out an army drill. On Friday they feature The American Revolution where you can join the 1st Rhode Island Regiment in the struggle for Independence it portrays the Continental Army’s historic Black Regiment. On Saturday, they feature The American Civil War Fight for the Union with the 6th Regiment of Infantry, United States Colored Troops it honors African Americans who joined the Army. On Sunday it’s all about The First World War where kids can jump into the trenches with the Ebony Doughboys! The Vietnam War Exhibition Family Guide is apt for kids of the age 11and above. Kids of all ages are welcome; the admission to the museum is free.
