10 Best Christmas Markets around Washington DC you must see!

The Downtown DC Holiday Market is perhaps the best known but Washington DC is surrounded by smaller towns where there are pop-up holiday markets featuring local and national artists and artisans for one of a kind items. Enjoy the shopping – and the live music and the sips and tastes at most of the markets.

Downtown DC Holiday Market

About: Live local musicians create a festive atmosphere with music ranging from bluegrass to reggae, swing, jazz, blues and more. The 150 vendors set up their fine art, pottery, jewellery, photography, clothing, textiles, and gourmet foods for sale, but only 60 per day – so you will need to check back as the vendors rotate and you don’t want to miss out on some of the beautiful craftwork. The booths are white and the stringed lights across the area create a lovely festive feel.

When: November 23 to December 23 from 12:00 noon to 8:00 pm daily.

Where: The Sidewalk on F Street between 7th and 9th Streets – in front of the National Portrait Gallery.
