10 Best Holiday Lights around Chicago you must see!

 Chicago goes all out with decorations – hundreds of tree in public and private space are twinkling with lights – lights crisscross areas like marketplace and ice rinks to add sparkle to the winter cityscape, and create a world of wonder kids won’t forget for a long time.

 

Winter Wonderfest at Navy Pier

About:  The place transforms in December/January into a winter wonderland with 170, 000 square feet of rides, slides, ice skating and more, with lots of twinkling lights to put visitors in a festive mood. There is a spectacular

15-minute fireworks show on New Year’s Eve too. The event is free but the gates may be closed if the event gets crowded so it is best to go down early. Experience the best of Winter Wonderfest on December 31 and then stay on to take in the celebrations for New Year.

When: November 29 to January 6, 2019

Cost: There is no admission fee to enter Navy Pier. Attractions within Navy Pier may have admission prices and those prices can be obtained from each individual attraction’s box office.

 

City of Chicago Christmas Tree and Lights

About:  The 62-foot Norway Spruce has been decorated with around 48, 000 lights and will be visible from the ice-skating rink at McCormick Tribune Plaza  – the rink be open from November 16 through to March 10. The tree is decorated with shimmering ornaments and multicoloured strands of lights, plus lights decorate the  ice rink – so take along your skates or hire some there and enjoy the winter wonderland.

When: The tree will be up from November 16 to January 6.

Where: Millennium Park, Michigan avenue and Washington Street.
