There are super light and holiday festivals with plenty of fun activities that the kids will be begging to visit – but they can be costly if you don’t have a season pass, so balance them out with all the free holiday light shows in the San Diego area for a holiday season that could see you doing something different every single evening!
About: Don’t miss any of the memorable events at San Diego Zoo this season from Dr. Zoolittle’s animal-themed version of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas (…not a creature was stirring, not even a ‘roo) to the Northern Frontier Holiday Forest with it stunningly lit and specially decorated trees. There is an interactive jingly, jazzy carol session and a strolling musician engages guests in songs of the season. The grounds are filled with colorful lights in the form of light sculptures of animals, and dancing light experiences set to music. Santa will be on hand before Christmas to visit with youngsters, and some of his elves will be putting on an energetic trampoline performance, the Toy Shop Hop. There are two special 4-D experiences: a train ride to the North Pole through the magic of The Polar Express, and then there is Ice Age: A Mammoth Christmas, where guests join Manny, Sid, and Diego on an adventure so cool, you can feel it!
