10 Best Holiday Lights around Seattle you must see!

24th Annual Garden d’Lights

About:The botanical gardens light up for winter with blossom of light with over half a million sparkling lights formed into the whimsical shapes of plants, flowers, birds, animals, and cascading waterfalls, winding around trees and all set amongst the plantings of Bellevue Botanical Garden. The event is popular so a tip is to buy tickets online to avoid standing in long lines at the entrance. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and snacks will be available for purchase in the Aaron Education Center where you can also see the Gingerbread Village created by the Wilburton Community. There will be live music at either the Gathering Place (just inside the main entrance), or the Aaron Education Center (north of the main entrance).

When:November 24 – December 30 from 4:30 pm to 9:00 pm nightly

Cost:Tickets are $5 per person; children 10 and under are free and do not need a ticket. Tickets can be used on any night.


Festival of Trees

About:  Get inspired with ideas for decorating your own tree, or simply take the kids along to admire the 21 designer trees decorating the lobby of the Fairmont Olympic Hotel. The trees are for sale – people bid online for them and so far most of the trees have been sold. New this year is a 9-foot tree dubbed

“Holidays with Harry” that is decorated withHarry Potter memorabilia. The tree topper? A sorting hat! The tree also comes with a luggage cart, Fawkes the Phoenix, Dobby and other figurines, a Monster Book of Monsters, a Marauder’s   Map and much more. All profits from the event go towards the Seattle Children’s Hospital.

When: November 17 to December 2. The hotel is always open so pop in for a look at the trees, and leave a donation to help children who need life-changing operations.
