The summer of music comes to Chicago in July with big name concerts, outdoor music festivals and cultural events featuring traditional music from mariachi to Japanese taiko drumming. Kids have been considered with planned activities and kidzone areas at most of the festivals to keep them constructively busy, allowing parents to relax and enjoy the food, festivities and fireworks.
Described as a “saucy” summer happening the rib fest promises tender and delicious slabs and sides, at this pre-Independence Day celebration. There will be beer to go with the meat, art and crafts vendors as well as afternoon activities for the kids. The live music lineup includes Karma Committee, Sixteen Candles, Catfights, Bright Light Bright Light, Electric Lotus, The Right Now, One Night Band, Rod Tuffcurls and Mobley.
When: Sunday July 1 from 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm (starts June 29).
Cost: Free – but donations accepted
