Phoenix in November has plenty of artists dropping in on their US tours – like Twenty One Pilots and Justin Timberlake, some traditional festive shows like Elf and The Nutcracker as well as holiday markets and light displays to make sure it is an active and fun month. And there is even a festival for dogs – don’t miss the dock diving!
About: Sixteen blocks of Historic Downtown Glendale will have a stunning display of 1.6 million LED lights, making it the largest free holiday light display in Arizona. This year, the 25th Anniversary of Glendale Glitters, the Countdown to Glendale Glitters Show starts at 5:30 on Friday, November 23, then at 6:00 p.m. Glendale’s Mayor and Council members will light up the downtown area for the 2018 season. Downtown stores and restaurants will be open so you can stop to shop or relax with a meal between viewing the lights.
When: Friday and Saturday November 17-18 6:pm or Friday. The lights will be on nightly between 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm nightly until January 5 2019.

About: The 3rd Annual Phoenix Mariachi Festival hosts Mariachi Nuevo Tecalitlan and their international Ballet Folklorico. This festival will also include performances from other amazing soloists and international mariachis, all hosted by Jose Armando Ronstadt.

About: A live score performed by the Phoenix Symphony Orchestra will accompany the screening of the movie. With the Dementors guarding Hogwarts against escaped convict Sirius Black, who has sworn to kill The Boy Who Lived, Ron and Hermione, with the help of Professor Lupin, the new teacher, help Harry find out that Sirius’ story is deeper than one first thought.

About: The festival happens inside Odysea in the Desert. The live band will take centre stage, while the kids get involved in decorating pumpkins, bounce in the bounce houses, get their face painted, and enter fun contests for prizes. About: With events including running of the bulls (French and English bulldog races) wiener dog races, a puppy stampede and a Scottsdale exclusive – chihuahua races, this is one event you don’t want to miss. Make sure you enter your pet into one of the races. The dock diving championships are going to be a lot of fun with a special 30-foot pool set up in the middle of the city so the pooches can show off their skills, you can enter your pet too! This is a pet-friendly event with veterinarians at the show in case you have questions, many exhibitors with the latest in pet products, food and beverage vendors, and there is even an omelette bar – for dogs!

About: ArtFest of Scottsdale is known for cutting-edge contemporary art, and in the Downtown Scottsdale area, you will see the work of around 150 artists from across the country. Live music throughout the festival lends an air of festivity as you browse fine art and crafts, and the foods in the relaxing sculpture garden setting. Hands-on kids’ activities will keep youngsters busy.

About: The festival and fiddle championship will feature a number of bands – the line up is still to be announced but Old Blue Band and Mountain Heart, as well as TBA band, will be there. Watch contestants compete in 10 categories for prizes and cash awards including Open Fiddle, Mandolin, Flat Pick Guitar, and Banjo. The kids’ area will feature activities and bounce houses and will be open from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday. There will be food vendors and arts and crafts for sale.

About: Celtic Thunder, the all-male singing group from Ireland, perform both solo and ensemble numbers and have certainly garnered many fans since their debut in 2007. They now bring their talents to the US on their X tour. About: Ballet Etudes presents its 32nd annual production of The Nutcracker this year. Let Clara’s magical journey as she encounters life-size mice, swirling snowflakes, dancing confections, and the Sugar Plum Fairy, will enthral audiences. The show has colourful and imaginative costumes paired with Tchaikovsky’s original score and is the perfect way to celebrate the holiday season with the entire family. About: Christmas in Color is a spectacular drive-thru lights display with more than 1.5 million LED lights. The show is fully animated and synchronized to upbeat holiday music, transforming areas around the ballpark. Allow 30 minutes to enjoy the entire display.
