From the Flower market to a secret mansion; a clubhouse you can only hike to for a visit; a foot spa that’s so good people don’t want to give away its name in case it gets too crowded; to some cute cafes that serve seriously good food, the not-so-secret anymore list in San Francisco has plenty to offer.
This is the top floral source for the whole of Northern California with over 50 different vendors. It is a treasure trove of scents, petals, and color that is not to be missed. Go early as many stalls will be closed after 11 or so as they will have sold their fresh blooms for the day. If you don’t have a wholesaler badge expect to pay more for the flowers – but even if you don’t buy, it is wonderful to experience. Many people come here if they are doing their own flowers for weddings, birthday parties and anniversaries, as the prices are good and you can buy the accessories like florist’s tape, ribbons and containers, all in one place. Go early for the best and freshest blooms. You may be lucky enough, however, to score a bargain later in the day when most of the vendors have closed and the last few are just trying to get rid of their fresh flowers for the day.
When: Mon, Wed and Fri 10 am to 3 pm, Tues, Thurs and Sat from 9 am to 3 pm. Closed on Sun.
Cost: Expect to pay a bit less than florists. Prices will vary depending on what is in bloom.
