15 Best Kept Secrets in San Francisco

 San Bruno Mountain Hike

With San Bruno Mountain being the closest wilderness area for city dwellers it makes sense to take one of the docents led hikes. Few people take the less traveled hikes like the Canyon Hike led by Mountain Watch Board Member Paul Bouscal, a man who knows the mountain area intimately as he lives on the mountain, and will take you exploring the less-traveled canyons, while sharing his knowledge of the history and ecology of the area. David Schooley, founder of San Bruno Mountain Watch leads the Founder’s Hike to Owl and Buckeye Canyons. Hikers will be impressed and humbled by his quiet love of the mountain and his knowledge of the area and its creatures, a passion he is keen to share with those who join the hikes.
