15 Best Winter Festivals in and around Los Angeles

The line up of festivals and activities suited for kids is quite awe-inspiring. Living in such a vibrant city makes for great opportunities to attend winter festivals – many of them free, making it easier to budget for the few more costly ones.

Seaworld San Diego Christmas Celebrations

New this season is a live nativity musical, inspired by the story of Christmas, called “O Wondrous Night”. Seaworld San Diego provides kids with loads of entertainment. They should visit Rudolph’s Christmastown on the east side of the park near the Penguin Encounter and Wild Arctic, an area brimming with Christmas décor, bright lights, and images of favorite characters and scenes from Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer™, where there are also photo opportunities. Don’t miss the sparkly 40-foot tree here! Then, there are Reindeer games to play, including Sam the Snowman’s Snowball Toss, Strike it Rich and Bumble Catch. Kids can explore a giant Snowglobe and have their photos taken inside. On The Christmas Stage, the Elf band will be playing all the favorites from Rudolph and the tree lighting ceremony takes place daily at 5 pm. This is in addition to all the other exhibits and shows at Seaworld like the orcas and dolphins.

When: November 18th, 2017 to January 6th, 2018. Open 11:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday to Thursday and 10:00 am to 9:00 pm on Saturdays. Fridays and Sundays Seaworld opens at 11:00 am and closes at 7:30 pm.
