13 Halloween Festivals In and Around New York City, 2017

New York has some of the biggest and best festivals around. Take advantage of the Big Apple whether you live here or are just visiting over Halloween to create some special memories with the family.

1. The Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze

Great balls of fire? No it’s the 7,000 odd pumpkins carved into elaborate forms and lit up from within that will have visitors in awe. This is not to be missed and a world-class experience. Alongside the Hudson River see the Sea Serpent made of jack o lanterns, the Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow, wander down the Promenade and enjoy the full show with sound effects and synchronized lighting set to recording artist Richard Christy’s soundtrack. In Jurassic Park the earth will shake as kids are mesmerized by the dinosaurs – all made of jack o’ lanterns. It has been described as the coolest show ever. Last year it was sold out every night – book early!
