 Story Time: Jambo Means Hello

Join Fowler Educators for an interactive storytelling experience as you look, listen, and learn in the special exhibition World on the Horizon: Swahili Arts Across the Indian Ocean. Featuring the award-winning picture book Jambo Means Hello by Muriel Feelings (1992), children will be introduced to the Swahili alphabet while learning about East African culture. Story Time is a short format, informal storytelling program facilitated by Fowler educators at 11:30 am on the first and third Friday of most months. This event is free, no reservation required. Meet in the Fowler’s Lobby. Kids of all ages can drop in here for free.

City of Culver City Annual Dr. King Celebration Movie Screening

The City of Culver City invites members of the community to join in on a celebration of the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King. Moreover, the Culver City’s annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration includes two special screenings of I Am MLK, Jr  at the Culver City Senior Center. Screenings are at 12:30pm and 7:00 pm. Seating is limited so arrive early. This event is ideal for ages 12 and up and it is free.
