Las Posadas

Las Posadas is an act of the holy voyage of Mary and Joseph to Bethlehem with traditional songs, bold and beautiful costumes, and vibrant music that gives life to the best Christmas story. During Christmas Eve the crowd gathers as the pastors, or shepherds, are guided by the angel to ask for shelter at one of the shops on Olvera Street. Although no one agrees initially, later Mary and Joseph are finally given shelter and songs of celebration. At the climax, each guest is given a cup of hot champurrado and a piece of yummy pan dulce or sweet bread. To mark the Christmas Eve this act will end with a live Mary and Joseph, honoring the birth of Jesus. This show is ideal for kids of the age 5 and up, the entry is free.

Reveal the true meaning of Christmas at the El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historic Monument, 125 Paseo de la Plaza Olvera Street, Los Angeles, California 90012 from Friday, December 22nd, 2017 to Sunday, December 24th, 2017 at 6:00 pm.
