Concrete Safari JungleGym 2018 will be taking place until Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 11:00 am at 115th Street Between Park and 3rd Avenue, New York 10029
Concrete Safaris is a model for social change in which children learn how to alter the physical world around them by navigating New York City’s infrastructure, becoming confident, experienced, effective leaders at an early age, committed to their health and environment. Concrete Safaris’ JungleGym 2018 Summer Series, a NYC DOT Weekend Walks event, sponsored by Tahl Propp Equities, is a fun, challenging race and active living fair for children and families. The race has a 20-obstacle course, and was designed by the 7-12-year-olds in Concrete Safaris’ City Surfers after school program and led by 14-24-year-old Outdoor Leadership Academy Interns. Kids (ages 5+), teens, and adults are invited to compete and hop, leap, crawl, and wiggle through the course. The obstacle course and activities are on pavement, combined with stops along the way for challenging fun. Complete the race and then have all access to the Active Living Fair. The first 100 youth registrants at each event will receive a free t-shirt. All participants must wear sneakers that completely cover their feet. No sandals, heels, or dress shoes are permitted.
