The garden area is situated on approximately 120 acres of land.  The botanical gardens in Huntington contains more than a dozen principal garden areas, like Garden of Flowing Fragrance, Frances and Sidney Brody California Garden, The Desert Garden, The Japanese Garden, The Rose Garden, and much more. The grounds also include the Huntington Ranch, a demonstration garden that holds workshops and classes focused on sustainable urban agriculture. There’s always something blooming at The Huntington! You can find the blooming flowers lists for each month on the website. The Rose Garden contains more than 3,000 individual plants and more than 1,200 different cultivated varieties. Each variety in the collection is labeled with its name, class, and date of introduction, offering a wonderful resource for rose fanciers. It is a paid garden with $29 per adult on weekends and $2 per adult on weekdays. Kids are always free.

Descanso Gardens

The Descanso Gardens contains a number of principal garden areas such as Rose Garden, Japanese Garden, Camellia Collection, California Natives, etc. The –acre Rose Garden represents more than 1,600 roses represent centuries of horticultural history. The plats in the Japanese Gardens are all native to Asia. The Camellia Collection boasts rare and familiar camellias and has been designated an-acre California Natives, spring and summer is the best time to see bloom, including the sunny yellow flowers of the desert-dwelling paloverde tree, bright orange California poppies, deep blue ceanothus and creamy buckeye. International Camellia Garden of Excellence by the International  Camellia Society.Year-round, there’s something to see at Descanso Gardens! Some of the favorite plants are Camellias, cherry trees, magnolias, Azaleas, Tulips, Irises, lilacs, Modern and Heritage roses, Crape Myrtle, Ginkgo and much more. The admission fees for the Gardens are General $9, Seniors and Students with ID $6, Children (5-12) $4. Descanso members and children under 5 free.
