It’s sugarin’ time in the Blue Hills! Join the Trailside and the Massachusetts DCR as they continue a more than 20-year-old tradition of making maple syrup. Discover how people learned to get sugar from a tree as you take a walk down “Maple Lane” to meet people who share the maple story and who help you handle and use sugar-making tools. Smell the wood smoke as you watch clouds of steam rise from bubbling sap cooking into syrup in the sugar house. And get a taste of real maple! Activities include games for children, a warming bonfire, and horse-drawn wagon rides ($3 per person). Skilled artisans will demonstrate traditional, hand-powered crafts. Grab a bite to eat from a food truck, then purchase some locally-produced maple syrup. Admission will cost $10 for adults, $5 for Children and free for children age 2 and under.
Maple Sugar Days Festival will be taking place at Brookwood Farm, Blue Hills Reservation, Milton, MA on Saturday, March 24, 2018 and Sunday, March 25, 2018 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
