The Worthington community celebration to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. will be held on January 15, 2018. The program will feature a living history performance by Anthony Gibbs, creative director of Black History Impressions, highlighting the experience of African American troops who fought during the Civil War. The program will also include performances from Capriccio Columbus and the Capriccio Youth Choir. This program begins at 11:00 a.m. at the Worthington United Methodist Church, 600 High Street. A light luncheon will follow the program, and the entire event is free and open to the public. The 2018 Martin Luther King Community Celebration is presented by the Worthington Community Relations Commission, in partnership with the Worthington Libraries, Worthington City Schools, and Worthington United Methodist Church. As a tribute to Dr. King’s commitment to help those in need, everyone attending the program is asked to bring a canned food item to be donated to the Worthington Resource Pantry for free admission.
