Oktoberfest is the largest public event of the year for Germania Singing and Sport Society. Come and celebrate a German tradition in downtown Columbus. Music by the Germania Men’s and Women’s choruses, the Swiss Singers, Dave Sabatka and Frank Svet! Don’t miss this great cultural event! This event is free to attend.

Columbus Soap Box Derby Rally

The Soap Box Derby is a youth gravity drag racing program open to any child age 7 to 21. Children compete by driving their racing cars in one of three divisions built from standardized kits. The best cars and drivers in the Midwest will converge at Big Run Park to earn qualifying points for the 2018 world championships in Akron. Spectators admitted free. Come watch and learn about derby racing. Maybe you’ll be a future derby champion. Columbus has one of the finest derby racing facilities in the country. Navigate to Big Run Park located at 4201 Clime Road until you dead-end at Derby Hill. Drivers compete in 3 divisions with two races on Saturday and two more on Sunday. The morning race is double elimination – the afternoon is single elimination. Standard lane and wheel swap rules will apply. Admission is $60.00 for all four races, or $40.00 for two races.

Free Yoga on the Square

Hop out of bed and do a little yoga al fresco with Fitness Yoga on the Square at the Easton Town Center Town Square! This basic yoga class is designed for beginner and mainstream fitness participants to focus on strength, conditioning, and flexibility. Classes are led by instructors from CorePower Yoga. The class is free and open to the public over age 13.  Please bring your own yoga mat (you can purchase one at Marshall’s, TJ Maxx, or big box stores for around $15.00). If you are a Lifetime Fitness Member, you can check your children into the Child Center while doing Yoga on the Square. You will need to leave a cell phone number with the Child Center and check in with the Yoga instructor when you get to class.

Uptown Pokemon Scavenger Hunt

On September 16th, Uptown Westerville will be swarming with Pokémon! Trainers will be given a Pokéball to help them catch pocket monsters. Clues will lead them to various locations where the creatures are hiding. Lures will also be set for Pokémon Go. Each registered player will receive one 4″ Pokéball and at least 8 1″ Pokémon figures. Players who complete the scavenger hunt will also be entered in a raffle for more fun prizes. The money raised through this event will be used to provide art activities throughout the year and to pay artists who are involved in Arts in Uptown events. Admission is $15.00 per trainer.

Harvest & Heritage Celebration

This amazing heritage festival is sponsored by Fairfield County Forever and Fairfield County Antique Tractor Club! Celebrate our Fairfield county heritage with all sorts of great activities, featuring the Fairfield County Antique Tractor Club. Watch as early farm machinery is used to bring in the harvest. There will be activities, demonstrations and displays, food concessions. This event is free to attend.
