Building Toys and Toy Buildings: Architecture Through a Child’s Eyes
We’re looking at architecture through the eyes of a child this weekend over at The AD EX as we see how Lincoln Logs, TinkerToys, Erector Sets, Lego, and even the humble wooden block allows kids to explore building techniques without ever even thinking about it! This exhibition includes a wide spectrum of vintage and modern toys, even with unusual examples like AstroBrite and Girder and Panel sets. You’ll also view German stone Anchor Blocks dating from the early 1900s, as well as the colored Playskool wooden blocks that everyone knows and loves. The highlight of the show is a 6-foot tall K’Nex Ferris Wheel made up of 8,550 individual pieces. This event is suitable for all ages.
