Celebrated all over Texas, Fiestas Patrias is sometimes called Dieciseis de Septembre and is a commemoration of the freedom call by Father Miguel Hidalgo who demanded the end of Spanish rule in 1852. This admission-free event will take place at the Traders Village Houston, 7979 N. Eldridge, Houston on Sunday, September the 15th at noon. The event will feature special music, native cuisines, songs, costumes, dances, live concert, ballet, traditional foods, and many more. Fiestas is open to people of all ages.
