Things To Do In Los Angeles With Kids This Weekend, Feb 16th – Feb 19th, 2018 + BONUS LUNAR YEAR PARADES AND PRESIDENT’S DAY ACTIVITIES!

Homeschool Day at Pretend City

Homeschool students are welcome to the museum to enjoy unlimited to the interactive exhibits offering learning through fun experiences and hands-on educational play. The Pretend City environment allows students to create a plethora of curriculum and activities to surround the students with challenging problems and absorbing questions. Activities are Sensational Story Time, Math Matters and art. In the Smart Art class, kids will make Heart Butterfly in the Art Studio, they’ll decorate 2 heart shapes which will become the wings of a paper bag butterfly that can be taken will be flying home with you. During the sensational story time, kids will learn about feelings, after the Storytime, children will have the opportunity to act out some of their emotions as they learn how to communicate their own feelings. During Math Matters, children will work on their one-to-one correspondence skills. RSVP required. It will cost $9 per students and adults.

National Random Acts of Kindness Day

Do you agree that a warm smile is the universal language of kindness? Yes its kindness that makes the world a better place. The Pretend City museum encourages kids to practice the act of kindness. Remember that there is no such thing as a small act of kindness, every act creates a ripple with a wonderful impact on all. In the smart art class make a Kindness Bucket, Kids will create their very own kindness bucket and fill it with kind words. This activity is based on the book; How Full is Your Bucket? By Tom Rath and Mary Reckmeyer. During the Sensational Story Time, listen to the book How Full is Your Bucket? By Tom Rath and Mary Reckmeyer. During Literacy Lessons, kids will learn some feeling vocabulary words and act out the feelings as we go. So when you come here put on your best sad, happy, and mad faces! Included with museum admission, admission will cost $12.50.
