In this workshop, participants are led by esteemed poet and educator Karen Benke, you will be writing letter poems to be mailed to friends, family, and acquaintances or left in beautiful Battery Park to delight and astonish unsuspecting pedestrians. Karen Benke and guests will focus on generosity and on enclosing parts of their hearts, by way of letter poems, using three short and accessible forms: the letter acrostic, the seventeen-line haiku, and magic word tickets. At the conclusion of the workshop, a field trip will be taken to the big blue box to mail letter poems and trail of poem-notes will be left along the way in the light of day! 7+Fee would be $65.
