Friday, July 27th, 2018 through Sunday, July 29th, 2018 All Day at Christmas Hill Park, 7050 Miller Ave., Gilroy
Do you love garlic? Of course you do, unless you’re a vampire. The Gilroy Garlic Festival is among the biggest and best of all garlic celebrations and it’s back again this weekend to ring in its 40th year! You’ll taste some great garlicky food, listen to live entertainment, and more. The best thing about the festival is Gourmet Alley, the gigantic outdoor kitchen where the world-famous “Pyro Chefs” put on a spectacular flame-up show while preparing garlic-laced calamari and scampi in huge iron skillets. Yum. You’ll also chow down on pepper steak sandwiches, pasta con pesto, fried calamari, and sausage sandwiches, as well as Gilroy garlic fries and garlic bread. And you’ve got to try the only-in-Gilroy garlic ice cream. That’s right. Garlic ice cream, for ultra fans only. This year they’ve got a super special treat as they welcome in Iron Chef Michael Symon, Olympic Champion and Food Network star Brian Boitano, and MasterChef Season 7 Winner Shaun O’Neale to host exciting cooking competitions on the Challenge Butter Cook-Off Stage. Great garlic, this is going to be good! Admission is $18.00 in advance, $20.00 at the door, $8.00 for youth in advance, $10.00 at the door.
