Held in the beautiful Yerba Buena Gardens, you’ll be treated to the sweet moves of Māhealani Uchiyama, an award-winning dancer, musician, composer, choreographer, recording artist, and teacher! For this program, Hālau KaUa Tuahine shares songs and dances of Hawaiʻi and Tahiti, offering a tasting of both classical and contemporary Hawaiian hula as well as traditional Tahitian ʻōteʻa and ʻaparima. This gathering of urban ninjas will see people jumping off of rails and flipping off of buildings all weekend long! No, you’re not caught in a Cirque flash mob, you’ve stumbled upon the awesome 2018 International Parkour Jam! The free three-day event brings together parkour enthusiasts and free runners from all over the area to perform like urban ninjas, using only their bodies to conquer urban obstacles quickly, efficiently and gracefully. It’s really something that you’ve got to witness first hand to truly appreciate.
